The hamlet Untergrenchenberg was the final destination of a spectacular day hike from Weissenstein (Canton Solothurn) on the Jura High Altitude Trail to the west.
From the terrace of a restaurant in Untergrenchenberg I had a stunning view on the main chain of the Alps. The snow-covered peaks magically glistened in the light of the setting sun.
The mountain peaks in my photograph are from left to right Wetterhorn (the highest of the 3 peaks, 3’692 m), Schreckhorn (4’078 m), and Finsteraarhorn (4’274 m). All three are located in the Bernese Alps in Switzerland.
