Clematis ‘Lasurstern’

Clematis ‘Lasurstern’

Clematis vines are climbing shrubs with beautiful flowers in a rich variety of hues. The genus Clematis consists of over 280 species, both deciduous and evergreen, and countless cultivars and hybrids. Whilst they are spread widely over the temperate regions of the world, they mostly grow in the Northern Hemisphere.

Clematis flowers come in different shapes and sizes. The female organs – located in the center of the flower – are surrounded by the male stamens. Some clematis flowers have striking colors to attract insects, while others release scents to attract pollinators.

Clematis ‘Lasurstern’ is a hardy deciduous climber with glossy, dark-green leaves. It is well known for its huge, lavender-blue blooms with prominent white filaments and creamy yellow anthers.

Clematis ‘Lasurstern’ can reach heights of about 3 meters. It flowers twice a year from late spring to early summer and from late summer to early autumn. The flowers are followed by attractive whiskery seed heads.
