Lucilia caesar, a member of the blow fly family Calliphoridae, is commonly referred to as the common greenbottle. Its body length is up to 11 mm; it has brilliant, metallic, blue-green or golden coloration. The adult flies typically feed on pollen and nectar of flowers. The larvae feed mainly on carrion.
