The reservoir Lac de Maron in the Doubs Nature Park is 3.3 km long. The dam wall Barrage du Châtelot was build 1953 and is 59 meters high. The surface of the lake is often as smooth as glass reflecting the surrounding landscapes.
The production of electricity is a joint venture between Frans and Switzerland; the electricity obtained is split between the two countries.
