I love to visit Basel’s weekly flea market at Petersplatz. In a park-like setting the goods – anything from junk to antiques – are presented. Under large trees the potential customers stroll from stall to stall and hunt for the bargain of the day.
At one of my favorite stalls old dolls are sold, which always make a fine photo subject. The dolls look surprisingly vivid and for a while I wondered why this is? My guess is that besides their realistic features, it’s their eyes, which look almost real.
