Around Christmas, ‘Mittlere Brücke’, one of Basel’s bridges over the river Rhine, is solemnly decorated. The photo was taken yesterday from the adjacent ‘Johanniter-Brücke’.
The illumination consists of strings of LED lights, which hang from wire cables. The strings are only fixed at the top and, therefore, swing freely when windy. Often, their pendular movements make them appear slightly blurred in photographs.
