Daybreak in the Petite Camargue (4)

When I cycled out of Basel towards France it was still dark. From ‘Dreirosenbrücke’, a bridge over the river Rhine, I had a superb view on the sleepy city of Basel. In St. Louis, a French town at the Swiss border, I saw nobody in the streets but could smell fresh French bread when I passed by a bakery. At the visitor center of the nature reserve ‘La Petite Camargue Alsacienne’ it was getting light, and the birds greeted the new day with their songs. It was good to be back in the ‘land of frogs and dragonflies’.
