Before the starlings set off south – usually at the end of October – you should try to see such a murmuration. Flocks of thousands of birds gather right after sunset and perform amazing aerobatic displays before dropping into their favored roost sites. In Kleinhünningen, a suburb of Basel, this is a park with high plane trees close to the river Rhine.
