I am very busy right now and have no time for photography. Thus, the next days I will show photos from my archive.
Next Monday (February 27) Basel Carnival starts (here it is called ‘Fasnacht’) It lasts 72 hours – from 4 am on Monday morning to 4 am in the morning of the following Thursday.
Tuesday afternoon is reserved for children. Costumed and masked, they parade through the city, with their proud parents among the onlookers. I love the atmosphere at the children’s parade and the great opportunity to capture dressed up and made-up kids. Enjoy!
In December 2017, UNESCO included Basel Carnival in the representative list of intangible cultural heritage.
