Meadow Cranesbill (Geranium pratense) (1)

Geranium pratense, also named meadow cranesbill or meadow geranium, is a clump-forming perennial growing to a height of about 50 cm. The plant produces saucer-shaped flowers in shades of white, blue or violet, from June until September. There are many beautiful garden varieties of this plant which have been selected for their fine flower colors.

Geranium pratense is native to the Altai Mountains of Central Asia. It is extremely hardy to at least -20°C, reflecting its mountainous origin.
