Autumn Hike in the Swiss Jura (1)

The ‘Oberbaselbiet’ in the eastern part of the Canton Basel-Land is a beautiful, off-the-beaten-path landscape among the chains of the Jura hills with lush green forests, rich blooming meadows, and charming villages. Unmistakably, a paradise for hikers!

Previous Wednesday, I did a one-day-hike there. I started in the village of Reigoldswil at dawn. The highlight of that tour was ‘Castle Wildenstein’ with its magic waterfall and a 500-year-old oak forest. My hike ended in Bubendorf, from where I returned to Basel by bus and train.

My first photograph was taken shortly before the first of several rain showers. I was very well prepared for downpours and did not mind. Instead, I enjoyed the autumn colors in varying light conditions very much.
