The moated castle of Bottmingen was put under Swiss Federal protection in 1938. Since 1957 it has been in possession of the Canton Basel-Land. Already several decades ago, the castle was converted into a renowned restaurant serving fine cuisine in a variety of romantic rooms.
Christmas lights embellish the castle of Bottmingen from the end of November until the end of January. Every year it is decorated differently.
