Wall Lizard (Podarcis muralis) (5)

The common wall lizard is often found on rock faces, in open woodlands and in urban settings such as stone and wood piles, and stone walls. Podarcis muralis loves sunlight and warmth and can often be seen basking in the sun.

Usually, the males protect and defend territories of about 25 square meters; fights between rivals are frequent. However, in colonies with high population density, males can coexist without distinct territories.
