Leopard’s Bane is a perennial plant in the Asteraceae family. Its common name points to the reputation the plant acquired long ago that it could repel wild animals.
Leopard’s Bane usually blooms in April and May. The daisy-like flowers are exactly the same shade of yellow as dandelion blossoms and are about 5 cm across, with a single row of narrow petals. The leaves are large and heart-shaped with jagged edges, and the plant grows up to 60 cm tall.
Leopard’s Bane is a very easy, no-fuss perennial to grow. However, all parts of this plant are poisonous to humans, if ingested.
