Borage (Borago officinalis) (4)

Borage is native to Syria and has spread throughout the Middle East and Mediterranean. Its historical use as an herb thought to bestow courage and high spirits has been immortalized in the Harry Potter books, in which the fictional character Libatius Borage is known as the author of a book titled ‘Advanced Potion-Making’. In the real world, borage tea can be used to treat fevers and chest colds. Borage is also popularly used for premenstrual syndrome and menopausal symptoms.
