There has been a lot of discussion about the aesthetics of the Meret Oppenheim tower. A local paper reported that passer-by found the new building ‘monstrous’ and ‘ugly’. Others had expected that it would be more vibrant and light – but after seeing it – found it gray and a too big colossus.
In the social media the Meret Oppenheim tower has also been gravelly criticized: people called it ‘high-security prison in North Korea’, ‘bombed out ruin’, and ‘highly inflated’.
The balconies of the apartments are only half a meter wide. I looked very hard at all sides of the building but saw no flowers on them. Odd! Are flowers not allowed there?
