Today’s photograph shows the view from the tree-lined promenade along the river Rhine in Kleinbasel on the Münster Mount in Grossbasel. The Ferris wheel above Basel’s historic district indicates a change of mood in the city: The easy-going spirit of summer slowly transits towards the darker days of winter. Soon the smell of roasted chestnuts will linger in the air, and here and there the first glimpses of Christmas decorations may flare up.
To me the Ferris wheel on the Münster mount is a reminder to slow down and get into the pace of the darker and more contemplative half of the year.
This is the last picture I will be putting up from the Basel Autumn Fair 2022. Next year’s Autumn Fair will start October 28, 2023, punctually at twelve o’clock.
