This beautifully painted wave swinger called ‘Wellenflug’ is located on Münsterplatz. The rotating top of the carousel is lifted up and down and also tilts for additional variations of motion. The church in the back is Basel Cathedral.
The image is an extreme wide angle shot. Thus, the buildings are distorted, giving the scene a bedeviled atmosphere. Who would place a carousel into such a narrow space, anyhow?
