The Swing Up, also called Swing Around, is a classic at the Basel Autumn Fair. This amusement ride rotates in a circle, and arms with seats swing out and in. They keep on doing this during the ride until the very end, where they all swing out, using hydraulic pressure.
The ride has 14 seats which can fit two people at most and a metal bar that goes over both, or single riders. The seats have colored lights on them, giving rise to beautiful circular light trails at nighttime. It is really fun to photograph them!
This year, the Swing Up is located on Rosentalanlage right next to Messeplatz.
