During Basel Fasnacht, everyone traditionally wears a carnival badge (In Deutsch: Plakette). They come in four versions: copper (CHF 10.-), silver (CHF 20.-), gold (CHF 50.-) and as ‘Bijou’ (CHF 100.-). The money from the sale of these badges covers some of the costs of the groups who participate. You can buy these badges from street vendors, from carnival participants themselves and from kiosks in town.
