Winter Flowers (3)

Winter Flowers (3)

I usually photograph roses when they are at their best. I like them when they are ‘flawless’.

The past couple of days I tried to capture the appeal of roses when they are in decay. This felt very much like taking portraits of old, wrinkled people.

I learned that the vibrancy of roses that just blossomed on the plant is replaced by a darker mood. Life of the blooms draws to a close and death is impending. But beauty is not diminished by this decay. Do you agree?
