Todtnau waterfall has its origin in the last glacier period about 11’000 years ago. A mighty ice flow in north-south direction scraped out the main valley, nowadays called ‘Wiesental’. A smaller, tributary glacier which discharged its ice into the main ice flow, gave rise to the higher located ‘Stübenbach’ valley. When the glaciers melted a large rock step between these two valleys came to light. Down this cliff the creek ‘Stübenbach’ cascades into the depth.

Ich drücke dir die Daumen, dass du nächstes Jahr endlich Zeit findest, die Todtnauer Wasserfälle zu besuchen und sie zu fotografieren. Es gibt viel Schönes in unserer Nähe, das entdeckt werden will!
