Valley of the River Wiese (Black Forest, Southern Germany) (1)

Today’s image, showing the view from Feldberg [1’493 m] to the south, concludes my Black Forest photo series. I hope you enjoyed it.

By The way: The Black Forest is known for its dense forest of evergreen conifers, mainly pine, spruce and fir. The green trees are standing often very close together, which makes them appear very dark. Already the Romans called this area ‘Silva Nigra’, the dark, black forest.
