Winter Jasmine (Jasminum nudiflorum) (1)

Winter jasmine is a slender, deciduous shrub native to China. It was introduced to the west by the plant hunter Robert Fortune in 1844.

Winter jasmine is widely cultivated as a wall shrub. It can be allowed to scramble freely over a low wall. Because it does not twine, it will need tying up if grown vertically. Winter jasmine is very popular with gardeners as a bright, vibrant splash of color in an otherwise barren winter landscape.
