Orchard Grass (Dactylis glomerata) (3)

After weeks of very intense sunlight, drought and extreme heat, many plants have withered and lots of insects have disappeared. A walk through nature with wide open senses is dreadful. Will it be like this every future summer?

It is not easy to find something interesting to photograph. Withered grass it is today.

The tufted triangular flowerheads of orchard grass may be either green or red- to purple-tinged, turning pale gray-brown at seed maturity. The spikelets are 5 to 9 millimeters long, typically containing two to five flowers. The flowering period usually ranges from May to July but can last longer.
