Ball Cactus (Parodia magnifica) (1)

Parodia magnifica is a flowering plant in the family Cactaceae, commonly named ball cactus or balloon cactus. It grows up to 30 cm tall and 45 cm wide and has a vibrant green color. The cactus contains sharp ribs that are lined with golden, bristly spines. In summer, it bears pale yellow flowers.

Parodia magnifica is native to southern Brazil. Its natural habitat is cool, dry temperate grassland at elevations of up to 800 m.
