Golden Clematis (Clematis tibetana) (2)

Clematis tibetana, commonly called golden clematis, is a flowering plant in the family Ranunculaceae. It is native to Central Asia and is found in forests, grassy areas, gravelly expanses, and on slopes and stream/river banks.

Golden clematis is a vigorous climber with small, bright green, coarsely toothed divided leaves. The deciduous pant has nodding, lantern-shaped single, golden-yellow flowers 4 cm long in early summer and autumn, followed by attractive silky seed heads from autumn through winter. The invasive and poisonous plant is a noxious weed. It seeds itself everywhere.
