Yellow Trumpet Daffodil (4)

Yellow Trumpet Daffodil (4)

The terms ‘narcissus’ and ‘daffodil’ are generally interchangeable and refer to the same class of springtime flowers, which are recognizable by their cup-and-saucer flowers atop a tall stem. Narcissus is the genus name for all daffodils.

The Daffodil Society recognizes 13 divisions of daffodils including 12 types of hybrid daffodils and one division for wild daffodils. Trumpet Daffodils have cups as long as or longer than their petals. This early-blooming variety is also the best Daffodil bulb for planting in borders—each offers a sign of spring with a single big, bold flower per stem. They multiply freely and are excellent for naturalizing.
