The area along the river Rhine between Dreirosenbrücke and the mouth of the river Wiese is called Klybeckquai. It is more than one kilometer long and since several years in interim use.
In this context, ‘interim use’ is the temporary use of vacant land for a socially beneficial purpose. It makes practical use of a ‘pause’ in property development whilst the search for a commercial use is ongoing.
Bars, restaurants, artists ‘studios, small shops, artisan workshops, event locations, cultural meeting points, a trend sports hall and a skate park, and much more have arisen there. Now in winter, the place appears to be abandoned and only a few paintings and graffiti bring some color into the gray winter world.
