Common mallow is a perennial, which grows to a height of 90 cm. Flowers, which are typically 30 mm to 60 mm across, are present between June and October.
Common mallow is found throughout much of Europe. It preferentially growth on road verges, waysides and woodland verges. The plant spreads by reseeding itself.
The open flowers of Malvaceae family plants have five large, notched petals. Common mallow has showy pink petals laced with darker-colored strokes.
