Corn Poppies (Papaver rhoeas) (6)

Corn Poppies (Papaver rhoeas) (6)

The daily appearance and disappearance of the corn poppy flowers (opening of mature flower buds in the morning and withering of the blooms in the afternoon) lasted about another week. By then all buds went through that cycle. In the further course, poppy seed capsules developed and – with the harvest of the barley – disappeared.

I consider myself very lucky that I was allowed to watch this impressive spectacle.
