Sulfur Cosmos (Cosmos sulphureus) (1)

Sulfur cosmos, also known as yellow cosmos and orange cosmos, is a clump-forming annual wildflower. It is native to Mexico, Central America, and northern South America but has been naturalized in other parts of the world, such as in Europe, Asia, and Australia. The plant has been introduced widely as an ornamental plant.

Sulfur cosmos grows to two meters tall, and sports very attractive heads of yellow, orange, and red flowers. The plant blooms from late spring to autumn. The flowers attract birds, bees and butterflies. The species is self-compatible and seeds freely.
