Schreckhorn is a steep rock peak in the Eastern Bernese Oberland. Its summit is the culmination point of a 10 kilometer-long, narrow and craggy ridge that joins the Upper and Lower Grindelwald glaciers.
Schreckhorn is the most difficult to climb of all 4’000 meter peaks in the European Alps, primarily due to the giant rock tower that marks its summit. This mountain is hard to approach, regardless from which side. Nevertheless, best months for climbing are July, August, September.
