Snow Hike in the Swiss Jura Mountains (30)

Trail conditions up to Chellenchöpfli (1’157 m), a scenic lookout at the Jura High Altitude Trail, were variable.
Large parts of it were covered with a few centimeters of snow and hoarfrost ice crystals. In some places the trail was rocky and steep, in others slippery. Thus, extra caution was required.

Often the trail followed the crest of the mountain range with long and steep drop-offs to the sides. No question, I did my best not to trip there!
