In the nature park the Doubs flows through a magnificent canyon-like gorge, surrounded by high cliffs and steep forests. The trail on the Swiss side of the canyon is well marked and easy to find. There is only one. Most often the trail is narrow with cliffs on one side and steep slopes down to the river on the other. The hike is a constant up and down; sometimes one is on eye level with the river and other times one is high above it. In the off-season there is no place to buy a cup of coffee or a meal.
