Previous Saturday I went hiking in the Swiss Jura Mountains. From Basel [where I live] I travelled by train / bus / cable car [all short hops] to the trail head at the foot of Passwang Mountain (1’204 m).
Today’s photograph was captured during the cable car ride. As you can see, it was a gloomy affair.
I had chosen Saturday for a hike on the Jura High Altitude Trail because the weather report had promised an interesting day with dense fog at lower elevations and sunshine above it. The fog line was predicted at an altitude of about 1’200 meters.
