Winter is also a wonderful time to visit Vlieland. The island is an oasis of calm at this time of year.

Vlieland also has its own natural skating rink. It was excavated around 1910 by the ‘IJsclub Vlieland’, one of the oldest clubs of the island that still exists today. In summer, the skating rink is a small lake, that can be seen in today’s photograph.
